Indus Blues (2018) documents the endangered musical heritage of Pakistan by highlighting the plight of folk musicians and craftsmen.
The film exemplifies stories of musical communities told in the exhibition and provides invaluable cinematic context to the instruments and objects displayed in Awaken: Sufi Music & Women of South Asia.
This screening of Indus Blues will be followed by a virtual Q&A with director and filmmaker Jawad Sharif, during which we will explore Jawad’s approach to capturing musical heritage through film and his creative process as a filmmaker.
The RCM Museum will remain open until 6.30pm to give audience members an opportunity to visit Awaken: Sufi Music & Women of South Asia prior to the screening and Q&A.
Suitable for age 12+
Running time is approximately 80 minutes, followed by 20 minutes Q&A
